Sherry Syed, MD, is an adult psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Syed provides comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults with a wide range of mental health conditions at the Goodman Hall Adult Psychiatry Clinic and the Concierge Psychiatry Clinic. Dr. Syed brings experience evaluating and treating adults with a broad range of psychiatric conditions, with clinical interests in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, sports and performance psychiatry and women’s mental health. Her academic work has focused on depression, postpartum psychosis, treatment-resistant depression, mood disorders during pregnancy and postpartum, and telepsychiatry.
Dr. Syed earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency through the University of Central Florida College of Medicine/HCA GME Consortium, where she served as Chief Resident. Prior to joining IU, Dr. Syed practiced outpatient psychiatry with Southern California Permanente Medical Group/Kaiser Permanente and Omni Family Health.
