Bio

Dr. Jogerst currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and the Co-Director of the Cutaneous Malignancy Program. She received her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and her master's in public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After completing her general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Jogerst returned to her Midwest roots and joined the faculty at IU.

Dr. Jogerst’s is the co-director for the Cutaneous Malignancy Program. Her clinical work is focused on cutaneous malignancies (melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, etc.), soft tissue sarcomas, and palliative surgical oncology. Her research centers around surgical education, quality, and outcomes work. She has served as a co-investigator and author on more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Jogerst is a member of the Association for Academic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Association for Surgical Education, and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She currently serves as a member of the Association for Academic Surgery's Education Committee.
