Bio

Adriel Y. Kim, PhD., completed a fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2026 after earning a PhD from Case Western Reserve University in 2024. Prior to doctoral training, Dr. Kim received a Master of Science degree from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2017 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006. In 2026, Dr. Kim joined the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Kim's research focuses on understanding how genomic variation and alterations in chromosome organization lead to functional consequences in both constitutional and acquired genomic contexts. With a clinical interest in genomic diagnostics, Dr. Kim is dedicated to integrating cytogenomic and molecular approaches to improve the detection, characterization, and interpretation of genomic variation in constitutional disorders and cancer. Through this work, Dr. Kim aims to advance precision diagnostics and enhance the understanding of genomic mechanisms underlying human disease.

Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys homemaking, spending time with a beloved dog, attending concerts and musicals, and exploring new cafés.
