Bio
Dr. Yokoyama currently serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Yokoyama received a medical degree from the University of Yamanashi Faculty of Medicine in Japan.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Yokoyama completed an Aortic Surgery Fellowship at Emory University, following a Traditional Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Michigan and General Surgery residency training at Easton Hospital and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
Dr. Yokoyama’s clinical focus is in aortic surgery and includes aortic valve disease, thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection, and aortic root and arch surgery.
Dr. Yokoyama’s research focus is in aortic surgery, aortic valve disease, and comparative outcomes research. Dr. Yokoyama has served as a contributor to more than 80 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Yokoyama is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery, American Heart Association, Japan Surgical Society, The Japanese Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, and The Japanese Association for Thoracic Surgery.
