Bio
Kai Yuan, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
His research integrates evolutionary genetics, population genetics, statistical genetics, and computational biology to understand how human evolutionary history shapes genetic variation and influences complex diseases. His laboratory develops computational and statistical methods that leverage human genetic diversity to improve genetic discovery and advance precision medicine.
Dr. Yuan received his PhD in Computational Biology from the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology (PICB), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and completed postdoctoral training at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
He is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, mentoring the next generation of scientists, and developing scalable computational tools for biomedical research.
