Dr. Yan's research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms that drive cancer progression and therapeutic resistance to identify novel therapeutic targets and improve precision medicine for pediatric and adult cancers. Her work centers on receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, particularly the TAM family receptor MERTK, and its roles in tumor cell survival, immune regulation, and resistance to targeted therapies. Through translational research, she has contributed to the development of novel targeted and combination therapies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with the goal of advancing more effective and durable cancer treatments.
