Bio
Jason Axt, MD, MPH, will be serving as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Ambassador for the IU Department of Surgery in Eldoret, Kenya. Dr. Axt received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Axt taught in academic surgical programs in Cameroon and Kenya, Africa.
Axt’s clinical focus is pediatric surgery, including general and thoracic surgery, particularly Hirschprung’s disease and anorectal malformations.
Axt’s research focus is global pediatric surgery. He has contributed to more than 15 peer-reviewed publications.
Axt is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Surgeons (APSA) and the Kenya Association of Pediatric Surgeons (KAPS).
