Evangelia Argyriou, PhD

Bio

Evangelia (Eva) Argyriou, PhD, HSPP, joins the Department of Psychiatry as an assistant professor of psychiatry. Dr. Argyriou is a clinical psychologist and researcher supporting the department's Mood Disorders Program.
 
She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (now Indiana University Indianapolis) and completed her predoctoral internship at the Charleston Consortium Psychology Internship Program, a collaboration between the Medical University of South Carolina and the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Argyriou also holds a master's degree in clinical psychology from Ball State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
 
Dr. Argyriou's research interests include bipolar disorder and mood disorders, precision mental health and individualized treatment selection using machine learning. As part of the Department's Mood Disorders Program, she is developing an independent research program focused on improving personalized care for individuals with mood disorders while collaborating on the Bipolar Action Network and other ongoing research initiatives.
 
Dr. Argyriou provides outpatient adult psychology and is interested in mood and anxiety disorders, evidence-based and measurement-informed psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral and transdiagnostic treatment approaches.
