Bio

Lisa Nobel, MD PhD is an assistant professor of neurology at Indiana University of Medicine. She joined IU School of Medicine in August 2024 after completing training in vascular neurology at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Nobel is also an epidemiologist and has a clinical research interest in vascular neurology.

Dr. Nobel earned her undergraduate degree in cell biology and a master’s degree in epidemiology at McGill University. She then completed a combined MD/PhD degree at the University of Massachusetts where her research focused on quality of life and disparities in acute coronary syndrome. She also completed her neurology residency training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She then completed two years of fellowship training at the University of Cincinnati in both vascular neurology and clinical research.

Dr. Nobel also has strong clinical research interests in disparities in stroke. She currently is interested in using both community-engaged research methods and implementation science to develop effective interventions for disparities in stroke. Dr. Nobel hopes to use these approaches to improve stroke care not only in Indianapolis but in the state of Indiana.

Outside of medicine and research, Dr. Nobel enjoys spending time reading, cooking and most of all, spending time with her husband and cat.
