Bio

Dr. Rakesh Allamneni completed his Internal Medicine residency at the MedStar Health Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2020, where he was a dedicated member of the Inpatient Track. After graduation, he joined MedStar Health as a hospitalist and quickly became an integral part of the medical education community. During his tenure, Dr. Allamneni served as Externship Director and Associate Program Director for Hospital Medicine, mentoring both residents and medical students and contributing to multiple hospital-wide committees focused on quality improvement and educational initiatives.

Dr. Allamneni relocated to Bloomington with his wife and currently serves as core faculty for our Internal Medicine Residency Program and Assistant professor at IU school of Medicine. His academic interests include cardiovascular health and quality improvement projects. He is passionate about fostering a collaborative learning environment, advancing medical education, and promoting evidence-based patient care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Allamneni enjoys traveling and hiking—especially exploring national parks across the country. He is committed to supporting residents in their professional growth and looks forward to contributing to the continued success of our residency program.
