Bio
Dr. Kristin Zabrecky holds appointments as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, as well as LARC Assistant Director - Large Animal, Aquatics, and Training. In these roles, she provides laboratory animal clinical care, management, training, and regulatory support for biomedical research at IUSM specializing in USDA regulated species and aquatics. She also developed and manages the LARC training team that provides comprehensive training for both LARC and IUSM research staff.
Dr. Zabrecky completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) training at The Ohio State University and her residency training in laboratory animal medicine and Master of Science (MS) in comparative medicine at University of Washington. She earned her Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM) certification in 2021. Prior to IUSM, she served as a staff veterinarian at Washington University in Saint Louis. Dr. Zabrecky joined IUSM in 2023.
