Bio

Dr. Qasim Zafar Iqbal graduated as salutatorian from Lahore Medical and Dental College in Pakistan. He is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He served as a leader in his roles as the Chief Resident in 2020 and Chief Fellow in 2022. He is very active in clinical research, has been a research mentor on several projects, and played a role as primary investigator on a study evaluating cardiovascular outcomes in transgender patients receiving GAHT. He is the recipient of 2022 American Thyroid Association Trainee Travel Grant and has presented his research at several major forums including the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and American Thyroid Association. Dr. Iqbal is the Key Clinical Educator for the Division of Endocrinology. He is the Director of Student and Research Electives and an active member of our Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology Fellowship Programs Clinical Competency Committee. His clinical interest revolves around Endocrine Neoplasia and Thyroid Disorders; and he is passionate about minimally invasive procedures such as Fine Needle Aspiration and Radiofrequency Ablation of Thyroid Nodules and Parathyroid Adenomas. He is currently an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, American Thyroid Association, and the Endocrine Society.
