Alyssa C. Smith, MD

Bio

Alyssa Smith, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and the Associate Statewide Clerkship Director for medical student education.

Dr. Smith recently completed her fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at IU School of Medicine, where she also completed her general psychiatry residency. She brings with her a strong foundation in education, leadership, and integrated psychiatric care. 

Dr. Smith is an active scholar with peer-reviewed publications on collaborative care, catatonia, and stigma in medical education. She has presented her work at national conferences, focusing on projects that bridge clinical psychiatry and medical education. Dr. Smith was also named one of Academic Psychiatry's Academic Psychiatry Trainee Editor Fellows.

Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
