Bio
Why I chose family medicine: Being myself as a refugee, I was exposed to the language, social and economic barriers that our communities face when trying to access health care and other social services. This motivated my desire to pursue medicine and use it as a means for social change. I chose family medicine because it gives me the opportunity to make a direct impact on the well-being of the community. I want to be part of the solution for a community I settle in and work in as a family physician.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this program because of the people and the emphasis on full-spectrum training. I felt so welcomed during my interview day. I also really liked everyone I met on my interview day and liked that I would have the chance to help a diverse, underserved population during residency.
Personal interests and hobbies: Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and watching movies and TV shows.
