Bio

Dr. Michelle Starr is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics with joint appointments in Pediatric Nephrology and Child Health Service Research. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, and completed Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency, as well as Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital. Her research focuses on the long-term implications of kidney disease in children, with an emphassis on understanding the lifelong impact of acute kindney injury (AKI), identifyijng predictive biomarker profiles, and developing strategies to improve clinical care and long-term outcomes for affected children. Dr. Starr's clinical interests lie in improving the kidney-related outcomes of children born prematurely, with a particular focus on acute kidney injury and dialysis care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
