Professional Interests: Sports Medicine, Peds EM and starting a family while in residency

Why IU School of Medicine, Emergency Medicine? Dr. Merriweather rotated here as a student and had the best experience. The program has great teachers and residents who are very supportive. The high volume allows her to get a variety of acuity everyday. The team felt like one huge family that she knew she wanted to be a part of.

Hobbies and Personal Interest: She is a foodie who loves to watch cooking shows and make new recipes. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and has a large Jordan shoe collection.

Fun Fact: Her first time flying was for residency interviews. Alexis flew Southwest and didn’t know she had to check-in. She missed boarding with her group and subsequently heard her name being called on the overhead speaker while standing next to the podium.
