Katelyn G. Makar, MD, has an expertise in caring for patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. She performs cleft lip and cleft palate repairs, as well as lip and nasal revisions for cleft lip patients as they grow and develop. Given her broad plastic surgery training, she is also qualified to care for patients with breast anomalies, such as macromastia, tuberous breast deformity, and Poland syndrome. She also provides surgical options for males with overdevelopment of breast tissue, often referred to as gynecomastia.

Regarding skin conditions, she treats vascular anomalies, nevi, and cysts, especially in the head and neck region. She is also trained in cosmetic ear procedures for prominent ear (otoplasty), as well as ear reconstruction for patients with microtia.

Dr. Katelyn Makar earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2013 and completed her plastic surgery training at the University of Michigan in 2021. She completed a two-year research fellowship between 2017-2019, while also earning a Master of Science in healthcare research. She remained at the University of Michigan to complete her craniofacial fellowship from 2021-2022.
