Bio
Dr. Pekarek completed her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering at Purdue University, Master of Science degree in physiology and biophysics at Indiana University, and MD at Indiana University School of Medicine. After completing her Family Medicine Residency at Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Pekarek practiced rural family medicine outpatient, inpatient, and obstetrical care in Salem, Missouri before relocating to West Lafayette, Indiana in 2004.
Dr. Pekarek's practice focus the past 20+ years has been acute care of patients of all ages. She currently practices at Indiana University Health Arnett Urgent Care. She values the opportunity to partner with patients to evaluate their medical concerns, problem solve, and develop treatment plans. In addition to a comitment to lifelong learning, attention to detail, and keeping the patient the focus above all, she prioritizes patient education/explanation as a vital aspect of providing effective, high quality care.
