Bio

Dr. Clements is faculty within the division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.  Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Toledo.  He completed his pediatric residency and global health track at Riley Hospital for Children, where he also served as a Chief Resident.

Dr. Clements is passionate about the care of newborn babies. He currently serves as medical director for well-newborn care at Riley Hospital for Children.  He is the Associate Division Chief of Newborn medicine within Pediatric Hospital Medicine, supporting best practices across the Riley Perinatal Center and multiple hospital sites.  

Dr. Clements has done quality improvement work regarding breastfeeding, safe sleep, neonatal sepsis, hyperbilirubinemia, and care for babies affecting at risk for neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS).  In addition, he has used clinical simulation to teach neonatal resuscitation and other key skills.  He is passionate about advocacy and health equity work in both the quality improvement and education space.  Outside of clinical care, he is a board member of the Indiana chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
