Bio

Dr. Cooksey is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the IU School of Medicine Department of Surgery. She received her BS from Indiana State University Terre Haute, Indiana. She received her MD from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She then went on to complete her general surgery residency with the IU School of Medicine Department of Surgery in 2019.  

Currently, Dr. Cooksey practices general surgery and robotic surgery at IU Health West Hospital. She became board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2019. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cooksey enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and 2 dogs.
