Bio

Dr. Harris attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate education, followed by Indiana University School of Medicine, where she earned her Medical Degree and a Masters degree in Clinical Research. She completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in child abuse pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children. She has served the American Academy of Pediatrics as the resident liaison to the Section on Child Abuse and Neglect and as co-editor of their newsletter on child abuse-related issues. Dr. Harris’s research interests are in education on child abuse identification and prevention, and the overlap of child abuse with companion animal abuse. She also educates regarding dog bite prevention.
