The Indiana University School of Medicine community is invited to learn more about medical students’ summer research projects at a July poster symposium on the Indianapolis campus.
The IU Medical Student Program for Research and Scholarship (IMPRS) Summer Research Poster Symposium will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 24-25 in the atrium of the Van Nuys Medical Sciences Building.
Event organizers are currently seeking faculty volunteers to serve as in-person judges for the symposium. Judges will review six to eight projects during the event. If you are interested in participating, please complete a brief REDCap form or email Anne Nguyen by July 1.
The IMPRS program offers medical students experiential learning opportunities, immersive research, and clinical experience under the mentorship of IUSM faculty. In addition to research and clinical experiences, students participate in a series of seminars and professional development workshops throughout the summer. Skills and knowledge gained through the program have proven valuable for career development and future residency applications.
“The IMPRS Summer Research Symposium is a wonderful opportunity for students to present their research projects,” IMPRS Associate Director Anne Nguyen said. “We strongly encourage faculty and students to attend, learn about the range of topics being explored, and support the work of your peers and mentees.”
The poster symposium will showcase the research projects of over 225 rising second-year medical students across all nine IU School of Medicine campuses.
