Mr. Matthew P. Blackwell, a third year IUSM medical student, received the prestigious MedSAR award in support of his one-year research in Dr. Hao’s lab. Matthew will join the team’s efforts in an NIH R01 funded research project to develop of small molecule degraders of small ubiquitinrelated modifier 1 (SUMO1) as novel anticancer drugs for
treatment of patients diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most common and lethal brain cancer.
