The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Management Committee recently raised the minimum Step 2 Curriculum Knowledge (CK) score required to pass from 214 to 218. This change starts July 1.

What it means for you

Medical school faculty reviewed how this new passing standard would have affected the Step 2 pass rate for IU School of Medicine students over the past few years. They believe the impact of the change will be minimal.

Faculty would thus not recommend anyone push up their exam date to be scored with the current passing standard. If you have concerns and want to discuss how this affects your study plan or timeline, contact your lead advisor and/or Perry Monnin.
