There were no snake bite wounds to treat, but the infamous Indianapolis 500 Snake Pit provided plenty of opportunities for IU School of Medicine students to assist in patient care.

Dillon Bille (MS4), Adrian Morales (MS4), Colten Duvall (MS2), Luke Haag (MS4), Adhitya Balaji (MS3) and Oliver Hobson (MS4) were on hand for the 2025 Indy 500 Coors Light Snake Pit on May 25, helping attending physicians, EMS/Disaster Medicine fellows, and residents in triaging and treatments patients. They worked alongside ER nurses and EMTs to find injured and sick patients and transported them to the medical tent for care.

"It was a great experience to work with EM faculty and staff during this iconic event at the Indianapolis 500," Hobson said. "It provided lots of good medical experience and some great music!"

The Snake Pit event, held in the track's Turn 3, includes 35,000 spectators enjoying some of the world's biggest electronic music acts.
