Class of 2026: Welcome to the start of Phase 3!

Be sure to check back weekly for Match on My Mind (MOMM) entries to help along your path to residency. The Medical Student Affairs Office of Career Mentoring will use MOMM to post updates, information and suggestions, including upcoming webinars and resource links.

Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)

The MSPE is a summary letter of evaluation intended to provide residency program directors with an honest, objective, and comparative summary of a student’s salient experiences, attributes, and academic performance during Phases 1 and 2. In 2016, the AAMC MSPE Task Force released recommendations for revising the MSPE that emphasized increased standardization across schools and inclusion of grading rubrics and comparative performance data. You should all be working with your lead advisors to compile your MSPE now!

With the help of School leaders across the state in Medical Student Education (MSE) and Medical Student Affairs, you'll have even more support during this Match season. Every student in the Class of 2026 has been assigned to an MSE dean or director. Your assigned dean or director will be contacting you soon! They will be the final editor for your MSPE.

You'll receive a series of check-in emails during the Match cycle for help/suggestions and to ensure you're on the path to success. Your MSE dean or director will also be available to review your personal statement and offer advice leading right up to Match Day. We're very excited to offer this high level of support and assist you in successfully meeting your match goals!
