MERB parking request form now open for Fall 2025, action required for Phase 1 Indianapolis students

As you prepare for the upcoming academic year at the Indianapolis campus, the Indiana University School of Medicine is collecting vehicle and parking preference information to coordinate access to the Medical Education and Research Building (MERB). Parking access begins:

  • August 4, 2025 for Phase 1, Year 2 students
  • August 11, 2025 for Phase 1, Year 1 students

Parking options at MERB

Two designated parking areas will be available for Phase 1 students:

  • Lower-level garage (assigned spots): Students assigned to the Neuroscience Parking Garage will receive a designated spot and a garage access card.
  • Surface lot: Students assigned to the surface lot will use their CrimsonCard for access.

Parking costs

Charges will be added to your IU Bursar’s bill:

  • Per semester (fall or spring): $156.80
  • Academic year (fall + spring): $313.60

Submission deadlines

Due to limited availability, students must complete the parking request form by the following dates:

  • Phase 1, Year 2 (Class of 2028): Friday, July 18, 2025
  • Phase 1, Year 1 (Class of 2029): Friday, July 25, 2025

Information collected in the form

The parking request form will ask for the following details:
  • Your full name and IU email address
  • University ID number
  • Year in the program (P1Y1 or P1Y2)
  • Vehicle details: license plate number, issuing state, make, model, and year
  • Parking semester(s) requested: fall 2025, spring 2026, or both
  • Whether you require a disabled parking space or other special accommodations

What happens next?

  • After the submission deadline, we will review all responses and assign parking spots in either the MERB garage or surface lot.
  • Additional instructions regarding permit pickup or activation will be sent via email before the semester begins.
