Evening of the Arts dazzles yet again

Riley Keller and Rebekah White play their instruments on-stage at the 2025 Evening of the Arts.

Even in its 32nd year, Evening of the Arts (EOTA) is still going strong. The event, which was held April 19 at the Indiana Historical Society, is a combined silent art auction and talent show for IU School of Medicine’s students, faculty and staff.

Event donors included the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Eiteljorg Museum, and several School departments, including internal medicine and neurology. Proceeds from the auction also help fund the Student Outreach Clinic, which allows underserved and uninsured Central Indiana patients to get medical care.

A sign next to balloons that says "Evening of the Arts" on it.The show featured an eclectic array of talents, including classical music, opera, blues, and spoken word. One of the standout performances of the evening came from Rebekah White—a first-year med student at the Muncie campus—on the cello and Riley Keller on the contrabass. The duo’s comedic twist on a Rossini String Sonata showed the depth of their abilities.

Another show highlight came courtesy of Vox Medicinus, who wowed the crowd with lively performances of “Bogoróditse Djévo” by Arvo Pärt and “Weep, O Mine Eyes” by John Bennet. The choir, whose names translates from Latin as “Voice of Medicine,” welcomes IU School of Medicine students, staff, and faculty to join their ranks.
