It’s never too early to think about advancement as a faculty member. In fact, there are steps you can take on the first day of your appointment that can help you prepare for promotion.
What should you be doing right now? The Promotion and Tenure Series has the answers.
Whether you’re preparing to go up for promotion, tenure or post-tenure review in 2027, or have several years before the pressure to promote will be highest, there is a workshop session (or two!) that can shed light on what to expect and help you prepare for the process.
"Promotion and tenure are important milestones in a faculty member's career," said Mary Dankoski, PhD, executive associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. "These workshops are designed to help faculty understand expectations, showcase the full impact of their work and navigate the process with confidence."

Note: Some sessions are offered on two different dates at two different times. The content will be the same across both; you do not need to attend both sessions.
Each workshop session lasts one hour. Times vary. Sessions are presented virtually so that faculty across the state can easily attend.
