Bio

Why I chose Family Medicine: For me, the more essential aspects of a physician-patient relationship are being empathic, understanding the patient´s background, educating using non-technical language, and empowering them with valuable health advice. That is why, Family Medicine is the path that aligns with my beliefs of treating all patients in a compassionate way, not only in a clinical setting but throughout their lifetimes, as this can make a real impact on both patients and their families.

Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: During my application pathway, I had the pleasure to do clinical clerkships at IU and witnessed the patient-centered care, collegiality, and warmth that are part of the program's culture. Besides that, I wanted to be part of a program that provided challenging clinical experiences as well as community and underserved service opportunities. IU was the program that fulfilled all my desires.

Interests and hobbies: I love traveling, especially learning about new and different cultures and trying foods from different countries. Also, I enjoy playing tennis, hiking and spending time with my family and friends.

Languages I speak fluently: I speak Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
