Bio

Why I chose Family Medicine:  I decided to become a physician because I am intrigued by all areas of medicine and genuinely want to help others live their healthiest lives. Family Medicine was the right choice because it allows me to remain involved with a broad spectrum of medicine as I care for my patient’s specific medical needs. In addition, a career in Family Medicine is unique because it allows me to provide comprehensive care while building long-term relationships with patients as I get to know them and their family members over a more extended period.

Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this residency program at IU because of its comprehensive curriculum and the wide range of learning opportunities it will provide. At IU, I will engage in various complex and challenging cases that will prepare me to be the best physician I can be. In addition, I have enjoyed athletics my entire life and, as a result, I have developed an interest in Sports Medicine. I look forward to an involvement with the Sports Medicine Track at IU and will pursue a Sports Medicine Fellowship after residency. In addition, I was immediately impressed with the culture of support and inspiration created by the residents and attending physicians within the program.

Personal Interests and Hobbies: I have always enjoyed the great outdoors, hiking, cycling, fishing,  surfing, running, scuba diving, spearfishing, and snow skiing. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where numerous ways exist to participate in these activities. Growing up as an athlete, I have always enjoyed racing and competition. I have recently begun competing in triathlons and am enjoying the new challenge.

Languages I speak fluently: English
