Jonah M. Persinger, MD

Bio

I grew up in southern Indiana, and have been a Hoosier my whole life. I attended Indiana University Bloomington for undergraduate, and then was on the Bloomington Campus of the Indiana University School of Medicine for my MD. 

Why IUEM?

I picked Indiana for a multitude of reasons. We train at 3 level one trauma centers and get to care for a large volume of incredibly sick patients. We have a faculty that is comprised of physicians with a wide variety of backgrounds and training in the niche aspects of emergency medicine, which allows nearly any interest to be explored. We also have a program that really feels like a family, and is incredibly supportive of the residents. 

Special Interests: Medical Education and Disaster/Mass Gathering Medicine

Hobbies: Hiking with my wife and two golden retrievers, going to Indiana University athletics events, going to Pacers/Fever games, and visiting breweries. 

Favorite places in Indianapolis: Gainbridge Fieldhouse and St. Elmos Steakhouse.
