Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because I’ve learned to appreciate the value of wholistic and preventative care of patients. The cliché “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” can be applied to any specialty, but it is truly a core of Family Medicine. I come from a family that had poor access to healthcare and missed out on the “prevention” portion and these experiences were my driving force to pursue medicine. I’m here because I would like to be a voice for my future patients at all walks of life so we can steer clear of the paths that need cures.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this wonderful program because it holds true to “full-spectrum” training. During information sessions and my interview, I saw that this program had an endless list of opportunities including robust inpatient, behavioral health, procedural and OB experiences. There are so many options to accentuate your family medicine training here and I could not be more excited to start! Furthermore, I grew up in Fishers and have done all my schooling through IUPUI and Marian University, so the city of Indianapolis is dear to me! Most of all, I felt very welcomed by the staff and residents during the interview and throughout the interview season!
Interests and hobbies: I am big on community, culture, and family! I enjoy hosting events, game nights, cooking with my family, trying new restaurants, and dancing. A hobby I can’t wait to pursue is traveling with my future husband to explore the world I’ve hidden from behind med school textbooks! Any other moment, you’ll find me asleep from food coma.
