Bio
Terrence Harper II, PhD, joins the Department of Psychiatry as a clinical psychologist providing outpatient services in the Goodman Hall adult clinic and Eagle Highlands.
He earned his PhD and MS in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and his BA in Psychology from Wheaton College, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Harper completed his doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology at Emory University Counseling and Psychological Services and his postdoctoral fellowship at Georgia State University’s Counseling and Testing Center.
Dr. Harper’s clinical and administrative experience spans university counseling centers, integrated care settings, and community health programs. His areas of clinical expertise include culturally responsive therapy, identity development, stress and adjustment concerns, trauma, anxiety, and depression. He previously served as Interim Director of the Center for Integrated Care at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he led campus-wide health equity initiatives and developed innovative programs to improve access to care for marginalized populations. His research and publications focus on racial identity, racial microaggressions, and psychological well-being among Black students, and he has presented nationally on mental health equity and radical healing frameworks.
Dr. Harper provides outpatient evaluations, psychological treatments, testing, consultation, and other adult psychological services.
