Bio
Dr. Fletcher received his MD and post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He also attended St. Louis University and Harvard Medical School where he completed residency training in Nuclear Medicine in 1972. He was a member of the Faculty at Saint Louis University from 1972-2002 and Director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine until 2002. Since 2002, he has served as Director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine; Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics at IUSM where he is also the Medical Director of PET/CT and the Cancer Imaging Center.
He has been on the faculty with the rank of Professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences since 2002.

Dr. Fletcher’s clinical research focuses on using molecular imaging to characterize the microenvironment of tumors by evaluating tumor vasculature, perfusion, and the relationship between metabolic activity and blood flow as a measure of tumor resistance or susceptibility to treatment.
Dr. Fletcher and other members of the Division of Nuclear Medicine: Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics are fully engaged in introduction of novel radiopharmaceuticals that provide procedures for combined diagnosis and therapy. This has included the introduction of standard of care imaging for neuroendocrine neoplasia, recurrent prostate cancer using FDA authorized Expanded Access INDs. This growing area of "Theragnostics" will soon include availability of a PRRT - Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy agent for treatment of neuroendocrine neoplasia (NEN) using 177Lu-Lutathera. This is used in combination with 68Ga-Netspot diagnostic imaging for mangement of NEN.
