Dr. Agarwal is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neuroradiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). He joined the faculty at IUSM after his residency and fellowship at the LAC-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. As the former Associate Director of Medical Student Education in radiology, he was involved in all aspects of the medical student radiology clerkship and electives. He now serves as the Program Director for the diagnostic radiology residency. He was recognized for his contributions with the Trustees’ Teaching Award in 2020.
His clinical interests include all that is neuroradiology, in particular imaging of spinal trauma, sella, stroke and neuro-oncolgy. He was the recipient of the department’s Radiologist as Consultant Award in 2019 and has served as the Division Chief for Neuroradiology in the past.
He is passionate about scholarship in medical education and is a part of the Faculty Learning Community on Research in Medical Education. His research interests include medical education research focusing on competency-based curriculum development and improvement, aimed at graduating more well-rounded medical students.
He has previously served on the medical school’s Curriculum Council Steering Committee and its subcommittee on educational policy and co-chaired the Clinical Component Committee. He serves as a Councilor and is a past-President for the state chapter of the American College of Radiology, the Indiana Radiological Society.
