Bio
Dr. Jessica Parker is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also the Associate Program Director for the Gynecologic Oncology fellowship opening in 2026. Since starting at IU, she has been awarded the Shepard Chair and the national APGO Excellence in Teaching Award. She is an active member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Heartland Association of Gynecologic Oncology as well as NRG Oncology. Dr. Parker also serves on multiple national and local committees. She has submitted several research grants and is the ovarian cancer primary investigator site lead for clinical trials at IU.
Dr. Parker joined IU Health as a gynecologic oncologist in September 2021. She chose to be an oncologist at a very young age after experiencing the loss of a loved one to cancer. Gynecologic Oncology provides her the opportunity to create a bond with patients and their families through all aspects of their care including through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, palliative care and during remission. While Dr. Parker is interested in all aspects of gynecologic oncology, her research interests are specifically in ovarian cancer, cancer survivorship and clinical trials. She performs complex open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery for ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers.
Dr. Parker earned her MD at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2013. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Stony Brook University in New York in 2017 and her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at University of Texas Southwestern in 2021.
