Bio

Dr. Gawrieh is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Hepatology Research and Clinical Fellowship Program in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a nationally recognized expert in liver disease and has received NIH funding to study metabolic-dysfunction and alcohol-associated liver disease. His clinical and translational research investigates the genetic and environmental factors affecting these conditions as well as their diagnostics and therapeutics. Dr. Gawrieh also serves as the Clinical Director of the Data Coordinating Center for the NIH-sponsored Alcoholic Hepatitis Network, a national network of leading academic centers in the US that studies different aspects and therapeutics of alcohol-associated hepatitis.

Dr. Gawrieh is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology.
