Bio
A graduate of DePauw University, Dr. Clary earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine where she also completed her internship, residency, and cardiovascular fellowship training and served as chief fellow. She also had the honor of being named the first John C. Bailey Fellow during her training. Dr. Clary was awarded a Masters of Business Administration through the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a focus on the Business of Medicine.
She joined the faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2015 as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. She specializes in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Lipidology, and inherited cholesterol disorders and is credentialed by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology in addition to the American Board of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Disease, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the American Board of Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine. She previously served as Cardiovascular Service Line Operations Leader and then interim Service Line Leader of IU Health Physicians Cardiology. Since 2023, she is the Vice Chair of Clinical Affair for the Department of Medicine at Indiana University/Indiana University Health. She also is the Medical Director for Cardiac Rehab at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
Her clinical research focuses on inherited cholesterol disorders, specifically familial hypercholesterolemia and elevated lipoprotein(a). She is also an active enroller in industry-sponsered clinical trials which allows her to bring cutting-edge therapies to patients.
Dr. Clary is active within the American College of Cardiology having completed the first Emerging Advocates Program as well as the Leadership Academy Cohort II. She is active in advocacy and sits on the Health Affairs Committee and HeartPAC Executive Committee. She served for two terms on the Indiana Chapter ACC Board as well, having completed two terms as Secretary/Treasurer, for a total of 8 years of service.
Outside of the office, Dr. Clary models the lifestyle she prescribes to patients. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, and climbing mountains!
