Bio
Leia Fanelli’s first job as a Medical Physics Assistant at a proton radiation therapy center in Bloomington, Indiana introduced her to radiation therapy and Medical Physics. Following this, she earned her Master’s degree in Medical Physics from Vanderbilt University in 2007 and certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics through the American Board of Radiology in 2011. Leia returned to proton radiation therapy for several years before transitioning to conventional radiation therapy in 2015. Her career in Medical Physics has also allowed her to live in Texas and Arizona. Leia enjoys teaching radiation physics fundamentals and mentoring other aspiring medical physicists.
