Bio
Cody Jinnette, DO, was born and raised in Alabama and attended Auburn University, majoring in chemistry. He attended Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Auburn for medical school and graduated in 2019. He completed residency training in Indianapolis, IN at the Indiana University School of Medicine and subsequently completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at IU School of Medicine as well. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He has been practicing in Bloomington since August 2024.
During his time in Indianapolis, he served on the GME House Staff Forum as a representative and advocate for residents and fellows. In his time on the GME HSF, he successfully spearheaded an effort to increase house staff salary as well as improve work-related benefits. During his time in Bloomington, he has practiced in infectious diseases in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. He serves at the Positive Link clinic in Bloomington providing services for underserved patients living with HIV and Hepatitis C. He currently serves on both the local and system wide Infection Prevention Committee and has led initiatives such as the Measles Preparedness Taskforce. He also serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. His academic interests include harm reduction, increasing access to care for vulnerable populations, inpatient antimicrobial stewardship and antibiotic allergy stewardship.
He lives with his wife, Lauren, and his cat, Newton. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, playing pickleball and soccer, reading, watching football (particularly his Auburn Tigers and Indianapolis Colts) and playing board games.
