Bio
Katelyn Payne earned her B.S. in Biology and her A.S. in Nursing from Purdue University in 2007. She worked as a pediatric nurse in Chicago for two years before moving to Indianapolis to attend IUPUI’s Genetic Counseling Program. She graduated with her M.S. in Genetic Counseling in 2011 and spent the first seven years of her career working in Medical Genetics and Child Neurology at Riley Hospital for Children.
Since 2018, Katelyn has worked in Adult Neurology at Indiana University Health. She joined the Indiana University faculty in August 2025 and teaches the Q619 Practical Neurogenetic Counseling course to the genetic counseling graduate students.
