Bio
Dr. Witzmann received his Ph.D. in Physiology from Marquette University. He currently serves as Professor of Cellular & Integrative Physiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He has applied proteomic analyses in a variety of paradigms since the mid-1980’s (well before the term proteomics was coined) and currently directs the use of mass spec-based proteomic approaches in projects ranging from various aspects of toxicology, pharmacology, vascular biology, and renal physiology. He has published over 180 refereed manuscripts, book chapters, and technical reports regarding his projects. He also regularly participates in EPA, NIH, and DoD grant and program reviews; is past-president of the Electrophoresis Society (USA); served as Associate Editor for Briefings in Functional Genomics and Proteomics, and is currently on the editorial board of Analytical Biochemistry.
