Stacey L. Halum, MD

Bio

Stacey Halum, MD, FACS, is a laryngologist who sees patients with laryngeal voice, swallowing and airway disorders. Dr. Halum received her doctorate degree from Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her otolaryngology residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2004. After residency, she completed a fellowship in laryngology at Wake Forest University.

Dr. Halum sees patients at the IU Health Voice Center in Carmel, Indiana, a multi-disciplinary center with laryngologists, speech language pathologists, neurologists and researchers all focused on providing comprehensive patient care in laryngology services.

An expert in clinically translatable research, Dr. Halum authored more than 60 journal articles and six book chapters. She is currently investigating the use of stem cell therapies for the treatment of laryngologic disorders. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for more than a decade. 

Dr. Halum was the first fellowship-trained laryngologist to practice clinically in the state of Indiana. In addition, she has received numerous clinical national honors, such as being recognized in the Guide to America’s Top Physicians, Indianapolis Magazine Top Doctors and the Patients' Choice Award.

In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and doing outdoor activities together, like playing tennis, boating, fishing and traveling.
