Bio
Dr. Alvaro Tori joined the IU School of Medicine faculty in 2007 after completing his training there. Dedicated to the academic mission, he focuses on teaching pediatric critical care in a family-centered care environment. He is an associate professor of clinical pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
Dr. Tori's second appointment is senior associate dean for institutional engagement. He’s enthusiastic about this position because it affords him the opportunity to develop and implement engagement strategies, align institutional goals, foster relationships, enhance collaboration and ensure alignment across IU School of Medicine departments, campuses and institutional partners.
In his free time, Dr. Tori enjoys family activities with his husband, son and daughter and loves traveling back to Peru where he can share his Peruvian heritage.
