Bio
Dr. Elizabeth Wetzel is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford Ohio, Master of Science from Purdue University and her M.D. from the University of Louisville. She completed pediatric residency training at Indiana University and her Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is the Director of Education for the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Associate Director of the Riley Maternal and Newborn Health Community Outreach Program, and Associate Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program. She is an attending neonatologist at Riley Hospital for Children and Methodist Hospital. Her educational and research focus is simulation based medical education and specifically identification of latent safety threats. As part of the pediatric simulation team she provides education and training for neonatology faculty, fellows, residents and NICU staff and serves as an outreach educator taking simulated medical educational experiences to hospitals throughout the state of Indiana.
