Boost your brain, mood with board games

Need an excellent way to boost your mental health? Board games might be the answer!

How? Here are a few reasons:

  • Mood boost: Board games can release endorphins, those feel-good hormones that can help level out stress and anxiety.
  • Cognitive exercise: Games like chess or Go are not just entertaining—they're brain boosters. Performing cognitive exercises can decrease the likelihood of dementia.
  • Social bonding: Gathered around a game, people chat and become friends, combating loneliness and promoting general mental health.

Through the IU School of Medicine Wellness Coalition, each campus will host a board game event—be on the lookout for details from yours. Whether you're a long-time gamer or just looking for fun, there's something for everyone. We hope you'll set aside some time to relax and enjoy the simple pleasure of board games.
