Faculty Affairs and Professional Development

FAPD develops a vibrant, healthy and engaging community where everyone can thrive, advance the school’s mission and cultivate the school's core values.

Well-being in the workplace: What's going well? What's not?

You can be a driver of change. IU School of Medicine and IU Health want to know your honest opinions, so we can continue working to provide a workplace environment that supports your well-being. Participate in the Professional Well-Being Survey between Sept. 1 and Oct. 16. Watch your email for a personalized survey link.

Get specific advice and resources for promotion and tenure

Whether you plan to go up for promotion, tenure or post-tenure review in 2027 or have several years before the pressure to promote will be highest, the Promotion and Tenure Series has a workshop (or two) for you. Sessions run from September through January. All sessions are held virtually.

What stands between you and grant funds?

No matter your level of grant-writing experience, a series of workshops focused on grant writing can provide guidance that bridges the gap between what you know and what grant funds look for in a grant proposal. Sessions are virtual and cover the latest rules and IU resources. (Link points to MedNet. Troubleshoot access.)

Our Team

With a shared focus on fostering excellence in teaching, research, clinical care and service, our team is passionate about empowering faculty members to thrive and make a lasting impact in academic medicine.

(We also like to come together to do good and have fun. At left, the FAPD team partnered with Random Acts of Flowers to create dozens of bouquets of flowers for patients at IU Health and other central Indiana hospitals.)
